Coffee beans are very sensitive to temperature, which is why I’m not growing them at home! This viz indicates a loss of 20-75% in Brazil’s production by 2080 based on the severity of climate change. The price trend also shows how climate has already caused prices to jump just in the past year.
Design Notes
I like how each data element the author focuses on has both a viz and corresponding text explanation paired with it. Color scheme matches with the coffee subject matter, and the placement of each section follows a thoughtful story. I would like to see a little more interactive features. I also feel that given the max potential loss is so large, there should be a visual that really drives that home and pops out to the user at first look.
